So in this 2022 summer and with life gradually returning to normal, I decided to begin my holiday by revisiting the South of Spain. This region which is also known as Andalusia is known for its beautiful beaches, great food, and very sunny weather. Back in 2016, I visited Seville and it was an amazing time. The kids and I had tons of fun especially at ISLA MAGICA, a theme fun park. W also explored the city by touring in the hop on and off Seville city bus. The city bubbles with life but has such high temperatures during summer. Yes, you heard right, it burns during the summer!
We lodged at Hotel Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento and it was the perfect hotel, I must say the least. With such great facilities and just walking distance to ISLA MAGICA theme park, it couldn’t be more enjoyable. There is also a free train ride from the hotel to the water park every 30mins and so you couldn’t miss out on any of the fun. Click to read more on my visit to Seville.
Accommodation & Feeding
On arriving in the region of Malaga, we lodged at Cortijo del Mar Resort at Estepona, a service apartment villa which is approximately 1hr drive to the centre of Malaga. It is a beautiful resort, well planned for large families. Also in proximity were supermarkets like Mercadona, ALDI and Supercor, for grocery shopping. The street ends have great restaurants too like an Indian Restaurant called MASALA, a cafe called d’ Alicia
and many others.
MÁLAGA
Driving to Malaga, it was a magnificent city to behold. With lots of tourists and locals, there are many bars and cafés which people could enjoy gelato, tapas and cerveza.
1. CITY CENTRE
The city centre of Malaga buzzes with life. With so many antic shops, traditional sweets, and the Piccaso museum, it will be hard to miss out on any fun.
2. ROMAN THEATRE OF MÁLAGA
This location is a sight to behold as it brings to life, the presence of the ancient roman civilization. It is most enjoyable when you climb the walls to walk in the paths of time.
3. THE CATHEDRAL OF MÁLAGA
Despite being closed to the public, the edifice was breathtaking and its magnificence stood tall, right in the city centre of Málaga. It
4. VICENS ARTISAN TURONS & CHOCOLATES
Any chocolate lover in the house? Yeah, this is the place to visit. With traditional chocolates and turron sweets made with almonds, lemon, coconut, and everything good, you can bet to get confused from the wide variety of sweets.
5. PICASSO MUSEUM MÁLAGA
For me, this Picasso museum was the ultimate to cap up the short hours spent in Málaga. Being an art lover, I was intrigued by the expression of the great artist, Pablo Picasso and his lifeline. There were two collections in this museum being the Pablo Picasso and Paula Rego collections. Although there was an entrance fee to the museum, it was worthwhile and had an audio guide in many languages to explain what each art meant in accordance with the room number. At the end of the museum, you could buy souvenirs from the gift shop and it couldn’t be more rewarding.
